GAIL CMD wins 'Best CEO' award for Oil & Gas sector

NEW DELHI, APRIL 27 :

Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, GAIL (India) has received India's 'Best CEO' award for Oil and Gas Sector at a function held in Mumbai. The award was presented to him by Mr Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister of Civil Aviation & Steel, Government of India.

Mr Gupta has wide experience of over 34 years of oil and Gas Industry and took charge as Chairman & Managing Director of GAIL in October 2022. Prior to this, he held the position of Director (Finance) in Indian Oil Corporation.

The award was presented at the BT Mindrush programme organised by India Today group on the basis of company's performance for the financial year 2022-23.

Interestingly, GAIL (India) Limited is India's leading natural gas company with diversified interests across the natural gas value chain of trading, transmission, LPG production and transmission, LNG re-gasification, petrochemicals, city gas, E&P, etc.

Apparently, it owns and operates a network of around 14617 km of natural gas pipelines spread across the length and breadth of country. It is also working concurrently on execution of multiple pipeline projects to further enhance the spread. GAIL commands around 70 per cent market share in gas transmission and has a Gas trading share of over 50 per cent in India. GAIL and its Subsidiaries / JVs also have a formidable market share in City Gas Distribution.

In the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) market, GAIL has significantly large portfolio. GAIL is also expanding its presence in renewable energy like Solar, Wind and Biofuel.
